Jimmy Carter on Homosexuality: ‘Jesus Never Said a Word About It’

“Homosexuality was well known in the ancient world, well before Christ was born and Jesus never said a word about homosexuality. In all of his teachings about multiple things -– he never said that gay people should be condemned. I personally think it is very fine for gay people to be married in civil ceremonies.

I think the guy has allways suffered from dementia. I dont know why this guy has nothing better to do in his life than continue traveling around the world stiring the pot. You figure he would have enjoyed himself somewhere on an island with a fishing pole. But NOOOOOOOOOo he has to be the flame for the left. Jimmy Carter is forgotten but not gone. Same as bozo. Ever notice that the most aggravating annoying self centered good for notihing pos live the longest? Look at this guy. He must be hooked up to a machine keeping him alive. I wouldn't doubt it if there wasnt a tiny allien in his head controlling his every move with a human skeleton control module. Look at this guy he looks like death. I dont understand why he doesn't take his last days off and enjoy himself instead of constantly digging up everyones butt.

I don't pay much attention to Jimmy Carter on any subject, much less Christianity. The Bible, both in the old and new testament, is full of admonitions against homosexuality. Because Matthew, Mark, Luke, or John didn't record any specific mention of homosexuality by Jesus, doesn't mean He had nothing to say about it, because He already had. All scripture are the words of God, and Christ IS the Word of God.

And He answered and said to them, “Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning ‘made them male and female,’ “and said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh?’” (Matt. 19:4.)

Here we have Jesus explaining God's plan for a normal functioning relationship. Here Jesus is showing that he made them male and female, not male and male, or female and female.

There is no way to logically concieve what Jesus said other than a man was made for a woman, and a woman was made for a man. Jesus gave no room for error when he made that statement. Furthermore, Paul's teachings only paralelled God's purpase for man and woman which is what Moses wrote about in Laviticus.

Any other type of perverted relationship would be out of God's grace.

Does any Christian actually believe that EVERYTHING not specifically condemned by Jesus in his recorded words is OK??

For those poor misguided souls, it is OK to:

Have sex with close relatives
Smoke crack
Have sex with animals
Snort Cocaine
Have sex with dead people
Shoot heroin
Huff paint
Have sex with dead animals
Sniff glue

I wonder when Jimmy will publicly proclaim that Jesus never said one word against any of these things?

It always amazes me that the majority of Americans, both Christian and secular, know of Sodom & Gomorrah and are aware of why God destroyed them, but at the same time are totally unaware that Sodom & Gomorrah's level of depravity was miniscule compared to the level of depravity of present day America.
