Default Re: Senate Votes For Amnesty

The vote yesterday was part of a two step process to get the bill moving forward. The yes vote yesterday was a defeat for those who want the wave of illegal immigation stopped, and do not want illegal immigrants rewarded for breaking the law. Thursdays vote is another step in the wrong direction if Senators Reed, Kennedy and McCain get their way, and get a yes vote to limit debate.

This will be a long fight. This horrible idea was thought dead at the begining of the month. The powers that be brought it back from the dead. Yesterday was a victory for their side. Thursday could go either way. Amendments could be passed that will either improve or worsen the bill. the bill itself could fail to pass the U.S. Senate.

Even if the bill passes the U.S. Senate the U.S. House of Representatives version is sure to be different. The real fight will be in the conference commite, where a comprimise is worked out between house and senate versions. Then the fight continues as both the full House and Senate must approve the comprimise bill. As I said before, this is a long fight. We have many opportunities to make our views heard!

This is why it is important to continue to fax, snail mail, e-mail and phone your U.S. Senators and U.S. Representative on this our any other issue you feal strongly about!

Why can't we just inforce the laws we have now. And who would want to. Seeing as how they put our Boarder Patrol Agents in prison for doing thier Job. I say build a Bigger fence.

Thursday morning another volt for cloture was taken. The immigration bill is dead for the time being. However, it may be resurected in the future so keep your eyes and ears open.
