Default People are dumb

It's time that the public understands the 'assault weapons ban.' I just finished reading an article that stated this...

"The president says he wants to sign a measure to keep in place the 1994 federal ban on assault weapons. The rapid-firing guns are used in such pursuits as schoolyard massacres and drive-by shootings. Without a new law extending the ban, it will go out of existence next year and the weapons that police officers curse as a threat to themselves and a plague on their communities will circulate again, unfettered."

Now I don't need to explain how much bullcrap that is to us who know better.

At school today, a speaker gave our gym class the talk about how to prevent suicide. Now, thanks to this, our school is for the most part convinced that guns are the number one "cause" of suicide among teens in the US. Yes, thats right, they said that guns cause the suicides...aaaaaaahhhh! They also said that having access to guns is a sign that someone at high risk for suicide.

I'm tired of all this crap, and there's nothing much I can do about it..........
just venting

Vent away, NM.

But you're wrong that there's nothing much you can do about it. ... You can educate your peers. Your fellow high-schoolers will often listen to one of their own before they listen to an old fogey like me. Your generation will be stepping into adulthood in the next couple of years, and it's important that they understand the importance of our Second Amendment rights. Continue to point out to them that "guns don't cause crime, people do." Help them understand that with firearm ownership comes responsibility. And emphasize that the right for an individual to keep and bear arms was important to the Founding Fathers, and should be important to us as well.

I have pointed out to a few people that most trousers have zippers. Despite this, very few people think zippers cause sex.
