Friend has a 32cal 5 shot revolver marked "Andrew Fyrberg & Co Worchester Mass USA pat apld for". 5" barrel cylinder is 15/16" long. SS # is 2135. It is in very nice condition. plated not much rust inside, outside no rust. It needs a trigger spring (flat spring under the guard).Ican make a spring but it looks like a H&R will the H&R spring fit? Any idea what this thin is worth? ThH&R is not worth much.

It's a 1903 patented by Fyrberg ,I think Iver Johnson took over the rights along with many Fryberg guns.It is a collectible.

It might have been the other way around.....that Andrew Fyrberg worked for Iver Johnson and then later, went into business for himself.

In 1886 and 1887, Fyrberg was issued 3 patents that were assigned to Iver Johnson.

339,301 April 6, 1886 Patent for Revolver of Iver Johnson, Reinhard T. Torkelson and Andrew Fyrberg

362,631 May 10, 1887 Patent for Revolver of Iver Johnson and Andrew Fyrberg

362,632 May 10, 1887 Patent for Revolver of Iver Johnson and Andrew Fyrberg

It's also believed that around the turn of the century, Fyrberg manufactured revolvers for Sears, Roebuck and Company.

andrew fyrberg, is one of the many little known gun designer of the early cartridge era (1880 to 1917). i have a list of 38 firearms patents issued to him or he and someone else. the earliest dated 4-6-1886 his co-patentee on this one is iver johnson. the latest one is 9-25-1915 for a semi-auto pistol assigned to warner arms co. he also held some patents for bicycles.

iver johnson seem to have been the first gun company he worked for but he also did work for H&R, Forehand & Wadsworth (later Forehand Arms co.) and C.S. Shattuck. around 1900 he went into business for himself and made a lot of single shot shotguns and top break revolvers for sears, roebuck & co. these revolvers made for sears were closer to the hopkins & allen design than any other. he was also responsible for a top break revolver manufactured by the warner arms co, also similuar to H&A. and the 'warner infallable' semiautomatic pistol.

andrew fyrberg seem to have done his best work early in his career (before 1900). his biggest clain to fame is he is the sole patentee for patent number 566393 dated 8-25-96 which covers the famous 'hammer the hammer' action that is the basis for iver johnson's arms & cycles works 'safety automatic revolver'
