Default Time For A Change

Since i was in high school i've wanted to move further south, i just hate the climate here(massachusetts). I'm almost outta college and will be looking for work pretty soon in the real world. I pretty much have the freedom to move anywhere in the world as long as i can find work which i usually can do. Just was wondering if i could get the opinions from some seasoned vets . . .what's the best place to live in the US for a spring like climate all year round(not too cold but not sticky hot like florida) i was thinking of virginia area, seems like mild winter and not too humid in the summer. Please people school me on what's happnin'

Come on down to Tampa Bay. I've been here 9 years and love it. I wouldn't think about moving anywhere else. Best climate in the world and the best shooting communties, and best of all, you'll be free of the Kennedies for life. Oh, yes, good gun laws here, unlike The People's Socialist Democratic State of Taxachusetts.

Johnny Robotic:

After 60+ years in these United States here is my take on weather across the USA.

Northwest:
Cold, cold winters and hot humid summers

Mid West:
Cold, cold winters and hot more humid summers

South East:
Some snow in winter but hot and very humid summers

North West Coastal:
Rain and Rain and rain

North West Inland:
Cold, super cold winters and summers can be nice

South West (Arizona):
Mild winters and Hot, Hot summers with some humidity

West Coast (southern-coastal);
Virtually no seasons-mild spring like winters and warm nice summers. Gets cooler both summer and winter as you go north from San Diego

Central California: Mild but cooler winters (no snow) and hot sometimes humid summers

California Desert:
Winters occassionally with temps in the 20 and 30's degrees F, with light snow once or twice in the winter, hot extremely dry summers.

Two things that bother me about the weather: extreme cold (Montana style) and high humidity (Georgia/Florida style). Based on your original e-mail you need to try Southern (coastal) California but locate away from major cities like LA or San Diego to avoid mass people. Venturi county is nice. I like and live in the Mojave Desert area of California but miss the extremely mild weather as along the California coast. I have friends that like Nevada-colder winters than the Mojave area and hot dry summers. Nevada is much more friendly to guns than California.

Remember that it is hard to generalize on local weather as it can vary even across a small area like Los Angeles But the farther you get from the ocean in California the less mild the weather. Sometimes central areas can be greatly different from coastal areas only a few miles away. An example is the San Fernando Valley (minutes from Santa Monica on the beach) but a lot hotter in the summer.

Hope this helps.
