I am using the term "elegance" in the same way that mathematicians and physicists use it.

Not fancy, but instead simple and effective and even minimalist while getting the job done.

You can feel it when you pick up a properly built 1911 or BHP....everything is right where it should be...the controls are instinctive.

This is not a gadget...not a shooting contraption.....it is an elegant shooting machine.

John Browning was not - as far as I know - a fighting man. However, it is clear he understood the concept.
