Does any one else think the mayor ot NO and Governer should take lessons from the Houston and Galveston mayor on how to avacuate people from a hurricane?

Nope, the NO Mayor was trying to get people to come back as Rita was bearing down on the gulf, and he got mad when the Pres and Fema told him to get real. He`s dumber than the rocks in the box.
And did you see the Governer-----she`s the box.

Anybody else vote to just backfill the marsh and save our billions of tax dollars?!?! Who builds a home in hurricane alley, next to a "Gulf" 10' below sea level?

The "R" in USBR is Reclamation... Interior (as in Department of) means just that...

There are three reasons for the problems LA had in preparing for Katrina:

1. LA is historically exceptionally corrupt.

2. La law is based on Napoleonic code and not on Anglican law.

3. It is a liberal Democratic stronghold. Liberals do not function well in real world, critcal situations.
