Default Smith 460

I have been reading for years, and just joined recently

This is my baby and my favorite gun for plinking...I know it's not a plinker

but i have more fun shooting this then the rest S&w 460

i hope my next two purchases will be a 460 and 500 s&w however im waiting for the brass and bullets to be a little less expensive. i do envy you and wish i could afford to shoot them now old semperfi

Here in Alaska, I see 6-7 used 460's throughout the winter. Cheapest I have seen was 700 bucks.


Luv mine, previous owner could hit 12 inch target at 400 yards every other shot; with hornady 200 grain. I can hit caribou at 200 yards from the truck. 395 corbons have some kick, but not bad.

My first 460 was a 10 inch. I bought a 5 inch over the winter and picking her up in 2 weeks when we make our first run into Fairbanks.

Ive wanted one, and wanted one, and still want one bad!
And also want a S&W .50 Cal., however (want) is a big word! But they both are still on my bucket list!

I was all set to buy a 500 however I did some checking and found I could get ammo for the 460 a lot cheaper...

I learned a hard lesson about ear protection I shot it 2 times without muffs and thought my ears were bleeding
