I am finally going to let go of the money buy one of these pistols and would appreciate any help or suggestions as to the best place to purchase one of these.....thanks in advance Ken

If there are no gunshops in the area, try www.brandx.com or www.auctionarms.com . Unless you have an FFL, whomever you buy from will have to ship it to another FFL. BTW, good choice in 1911's. I have two series 1 Kimbers, a Royal and a Pro Carry.

how's the pro carry? i saw one on brand x that for sale for $650 at buy it now price, and first bid is 500.

I like mine a lot. I can shoot it every bit as well as the Royal and I know that it's nothing more than my perception, but I swear the felt recoil feels less. If the Democraps in the Maryland legislature ever give us mere mortals the right to carry, the Pro Carry and my Kahr will be what I carry. My brother bought a Gold Match off of brand x and it will really shoot as well.
