Me and Brandon went fishing this morning for the first time this year.I caught a 5lb Large mouth bass as I was reeling it in it jumped out of the water, that was pretty cool.Biggest one I ever caught.Brandon was getting irratated that I was skunking him and I just laughed. We went back this evening and he caught up with me at 5 bluegill a piece. It was alot of fun.Had to do something different than shootin since his gun is in the shop and we pick up the new shotgun friday cant wait.

Wait till ya have a killer day fishin, take some picts, and look them over years down the road. I had a fish net in the Yukon for chums that I used for dog food. So, I'd clean fish and toss guts in river eddy. It brought all the other fish in like nuts, they really can smell blood in the water. The water was black with fish and the boy and me caught over 200 grayling in about an hour and a half; kept everything over 16 inches and took a pict of over 50 grayling on freezer top in the cabin. I've posted that pict on here last year but the boy still talks about that day close to 15 years later. He was a little kid then, now at UAF. Take them picts, you'll enjoy them for the rest of your life.

I found with bluegills, crappies and perch, I broil them in the microwave with just the heads and entrails removed. After cooking it's easy to just slide skins and scales off. Great eating! Less work that way also!

I've caught 100lb. bluefins, 50lb. dodos, 80lb. flatheads, 12lb. largemouths all a world of fun to catch, but I'm still just as excited about catching a palm sized bluegill on a bobber.

Blue gill are about the only thing I fish for any more. They are a blast to catch on ultra light line, and riggs, or with the old fly rod. One year my dad wanted to have a fish fry for the church, so the two of us, and the neighbor, and his son headed out to the lake where we knew the red ears were spawning. We caught 3,000 over the next 4 days. The fish fry was a huge success, and we had 4 fryers going at all times.
