Please tell me why

I just don't understand our country.
There is this big move to make all the world happy, we feed them, we send medical help to them, we do a lot of different things in a lot of different countries for a lot of different people.
We have starving homeless old folks here that could use help, we have HONEST poor people of all colors that could use our help and we spend billions in other countries. WHY?
We ship raw goods to them so they can build or make items to send back to us at higher prices. Why? Half of our food now comes from overseas. Why?
We where at one time the richest and most powerful nation in the world, now we are more of a world joke then any thing else. Why?
Some one smarter then me please explain to me in simple southern terms why it is that all the other countries and all the other people are more important to our politicians then there own neighbors and country.
We will give cash money at a 2% loan to an exchange student yet our people have to pay 4 or 5% for the same money. We will pay for some one to go to 8 years of school and become a doctor if they will work for three years in a small rural town, but not one American qualifies for this program. WHY ?
OK I will stop but I sure hope that you ask your elected officials these same questions!
I am not mad or upset, I AM PISSED OFF and it is time that
" WE THE PEOPLE" make the scum bags in Washington answer for this sort of crap!!

Maybe I am just a throwback from long ago but I look at it this way. Should you come to see me and the house looks lived in,well that is because it is lived in,you came to see me or the wife not to do a house inspection. Someone does not like the way my house or yard (which is truly a mess) looks,well they know the rod they used to get here,it goes the other way also. On the aspect of how much we give to those overseas and here in the good US of A. It just plain old politics in my opinion. That way some congressperson can go back to his or her home area and tout the fact of look what I have done for you. Now remember he/she did this on your taxpayer dollars while getting themselves several pay raises while they refused to give out military anything but a minimal pay raise,if any at all.Why is it that my son would have to pay out of state tuition to go to college across the state line which is only six miles away but an illegal can go to the same college for in state tuition? I will admit that if the wife knows someone is coming she "puts on the dog" while I tell her not to worry about it. Some things , like her making the house extra clean and the politicians sending money overseas to individuals that neither like us nor respect us is just the way it has become. In business we need to be more like Japan. Japan takes care of Japan first. If it's not good for Japan they don't deal.

Instead of gifting hundreds of millions of dollars every year to countries most Americans don't even know exist. Let's use that money to educate our children and secure our borders.

Instead of the government paying farmers NOT to grow crops. Let's grow the crops and feed our own people.

Instead of relying on foreign oil. Let's get our own here and let the Middle Eastern oil barons eat their own oil.

Let's get back to the basics of:
Pride, loyalty and respect for our country.
Pride, loyalty and respect for family, neighborhood and towns.
Allow the school system to control and properly educate our children as was done in the 1950's.
Reteach young parents to properly control their children while in public so as not to be a disgrace to themselves and a burden to others.
Reteach the family values this country has held dear for countless generations.
And finally but formost........let GOD back in our country, homes and hearts. If we turn away from him, he will turn away from us and ROME will fall yet again.

I'm tired of the way things are going (and yup, it's old school). If it ain't broke...don't fix it. If it works...leave it alone.
Our society is 180 degrees out of whack from the way it was 50 years ago and I don't see that it's for the better.
We got a bunch of Republicrats up there on the hill that spout one thing while doing another, and you can't trust any of them to do what they say they will.
If I had a young child in my house right now to raise (which thank God I don't anymore, mine are raised) according to society and law, If my child acts up and does something wrong and hurts someone or destroys some property, I can go to jail for not keeping him in line. But if I spank his butt for screwing up, and let him know that there are limits he can't go past without severe consequences, guess what " I go to jail". So it looks like I'm going to jail either way I go. Catch 22, do not pass GO, do not collect $200 (monopoly).
When I was a kid and I got caught down the street by the neighbor lady messing up. I could count on her grabbing me by the ear, whipping my butt and then taking me home to tell my parents. And then I got it again from them. All that was was the neighborhood moms watching out for the neighborhood kids so hopefully nobody got hurt too much. Today they call it "Tough Love groups" when parents get together for support to try and get ideas and help from others with their out of control kids. My parents called it common sense to stop it before it got that bad.
The government, so called expert psycological doctors (who sell their books to millions) and liberal pansy leftist groups are trying to force their beliefs into our lives. Trying to make us live the way they want us to live or else. I don't buy it.
Kids realilze real quick that if there are no consequences for their actions. Then they can do what they want. And the kids have a support group at school (which are extremely knowledgeable due to the internet) which teach them what they can do and get away with.
WE as a nation are in a social crisis. The family unit is breaking down. The neighborhood unit is breaking down. Teachers are getting out of the business because there is no support from the students families, the school administration or the local town leadership.
Workers are no longer counting on 30 years with a company and then retirement with that company. The company doesn't want to support retired workers. Where is the loyalty that predominated the 1950's?
It all boils down to this.
1) Our kids are our future, but for the last 40 years we have allowed the school system to gradute class after class of functional illiterates. (Worker bees). Schools from first grade to college are teaching our kids that our history is wrong and that our way of life is bad.
2) The state and federal government (and others) are trying very hard to to take away our liberty, our individualism and instead mandate how we live our lives and grow our families.
3) Our individual independence is being slowly erased through laws designed to force us to become a welfare society. A society that must live according to the beliefs and desires of those we can't count on for a straight answer at any time on any subject.
4) Our way of life is being targeted on many fronts at the same time. The foundation of our way of life as we have grown up counting on is desinegrating before our eyes. (Look at what has happened in Canada, England and Australia. Look at the push for socialized medicine and gun control. Look at the push for a national ID card with all your information imbedded in the card. Look at the push for international highways running through our country that we will not own or have any control over. And look at what is happening to our freedom to raise our families the way we feel is right.)
5) Slowly on many fronts the Judao-Christian religion is being erased and made illegal. The GOD of the Judao-Christian is being banned while any other religion is free to express itself at any time and at any place. Last week I had to pull over in my car to let a parade of upscale cars, SUV's and trucks go by. The parade had a police escort. All the parade vehicles were flying the American and some middle east flag. All the men in the vehicles wore Turbines. All the women in the vehicles had their heads covered.And there was easily fifty vehicles in line with lights on. And they were free to express their beliefs.
6) This next presidential election could have more impact on how we will continue to exist as a free Judao-Christian nation than any since before my time. And it scares the hell out of me.

Teach the kids discipline and what is right. Then adults should live a life that is a positive influence to all around them.

It's just that there are a lot of broken parts that need to be addressed. We haven't gotten to that one yet.

Ron, what you originally suggested in this thread is all too true. The United States was founded on the idea of self-sufficiency and self-reliance, and for the first 150 years of our existence we pretty much adhered to those principles, tending to its own garden and letting the rest of the world tend to its own business unless U.S. interests were directly threatened. Since the end of World War II, however, the U.S. has seen itself as the world's policeman and, to a large degree, as the arbitrator of its disputes. The more recent leaders of the U.S. have allowed that false perception to cloud their judgment toward their true first responsibility, the welfare of American citizens. A wise man (probably Tallyrand, but attributed to many different authors) once said that, "Nations don't have friends, they have interests." He was right. Until we as citizens wake up and elect leaders who truly do represent our collective interests, we will indeed continue down the path of a new world order in which the United States will be the loser.
