Default Picture a really HUGE GRIN here

Picked this one up in trade Saturday, well trade and I had to throw in about $8.00 in cash
Smith & Wesson 617-1 with a 8 & 3/8's inch barrel
one day I will get a nice gun

That isn't just a gun it is almost dream come true, if it was just blued steel and walnut, but hey it is close enough.
And just so you know I got rid of five and only brought home two
a S&W 29 w 6" and the S&W 617 w 8 3/8" so I am now down by three.
I told you I was going to down size some

What is the "-1" designation?
