Does anybody know if this thing passed.
Wait, let me guess. Ahhhhhhh, lets see it was probably 1100 pages or so with only about 12 hours to read it and why not just let the republicans sit out of this one. Is that how it went?

You pretty much nailed it. It passed on Friday night, and Obama is having a big ceremony in Denver on Tuesday to sign it.
The way they claimed it absolutely had to be rushed, you'd think he'd at least pretend he was in a rush and sign it on Monday... ![]()

The Democrats were in a rush to get it passed so NOBODY could read it.
Obozo & crew said this must be passed Now. If they were in such a rush Why is Obozo waiting till Tuesday to sign this bill. They could have waited till Tuesday to vote on this. ![]() Art

Here's John Boehner's speech on the floor of the House.
I wish I could shake his hand. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3085DErFpoY I think I'll post a thread of this in the Constiution and RKBA forum also. Art

Oh well, now my son is going to have to either be a Doctor or a dead beat, to live in the same middle American life style that he is growing up in.

The stimulus bill is a sham, nothing more than the fleecing of this Nation. I haven't talked to anyone who expects to benefit from it. In fact, a lot of people think all this government spending with just result in higher taxes in the future.

From U.S. Senator John Cornyn, "The Democrats' plan: Some of the more absurd examples include a request for $600 million to build an "ethnic heritage trail" or a request for $6 million to build three aquatic centers with water slides". There's some of your stimulus! If you don't have a job, go to the water park and relax!

here's a couple of things our money is being spent on....
-- $50 million for the National Endowment for the Arts -- $380 million for the Women, Infants & Children welfare program -- $300 million in grants to combat violence against women -- $1.2 billion to provide "youth" with summer jobs -- $2.4 billion for "neighborhood stabilization" activities (Payoff to ACORN) -- $650 million for digital TV coupons (Gov't control of the Airwaves) -- $150 million for the Smithsonian -- $34 million to renovate the Dept. of Commerce headquarters (Payoff to the Unions) -- $500 million for improvements to the National Institute of Health facility -- $44 million for repairs to the Dept. of Agriculture's headquarters (Payoff to the Unions) -- $350 million for agriculture department computers (Parts Manufactured in China & Japan) -- $88 million to move (that's right, move) the Public Health Service into a new building. -- $1 billion for the Census Bureau -- $89 billion for Medicaid -- $30 billion for COBRA extensions -- $36 billion for expanded unemployment -- $20 billion for food stamps -- $850 million for Amtrak (Payoff to the Unions) -- $87 million for a "polar ice breaking ship" (What about the ice caps melting because of global warming?) -- $1.7 million for the National Park Service -- $55 million for the Historic Preservation Fund -- $7.6 million for the Rural Advancement Program -- $150 million for "agricultural commodity purchases" -- $150 million for producers of livestock, farm-raised fish and honey bees (More Subsidies) -- $160 million for paid volunteers (what is a "paid volunteer"?) at the Corporation for National and Community Service (Sounds like ACORN) So where is the money that is going to help the small businesses that create most of the jobs in this country?

this whole mess is troubling. i hate to be a doom and gloom type but given the circumstances what hope is there ? how long until we see soup lines and 20 % unemployment ? crime rate going through the roof and people jumping out of tall buildings. 80 years since the "depression" and everyone afraid to use the D word now but it's here and only going to get worse.

Forget the doctor. If chairman Bao gets his healthcare being a doctor won't pay crap.

Last time I checked we had a pretty good government paid medical staff already available. Then again Cindy down the street might feel uncomfortable being checked out by a woman in camouflage fatigues. We'd hate for anyone to feel uncomfortable.
