I just thought of something that made me happy - The Firearms Forum

Chicago recently had a gun "buy-back". According to the yahoo article they took in over 5000, including "sawed-off shotguns", and an M-60 machine gun.

The article also said that all guns were turned in anonymously, and would be destroyed.

Last time I looked, it was impossible to own SBSs and belt-fed machine guns in the state of Illinois. That means they were unregistered NFA items.

ATF does not like people having unregistered NFA items, and wish to prosecute these type people to the fullest extent of the law.

By not arresting and turning over the Feds the people with the illegal NFA items, the Chicago PD were breaking Federal law.

By not turning the illegal NFA items over to the ATF for disposal, the Chicago PD were again breaking Federal law.

Wouldn't it be cool of ATF raided the Chicago PD, and arrested all the top brass, and confiscated all the guns they could find (that's what they'd do if I had an illegal NFA item - they'd raid my house and take it and every other gun they could get their sticky little fingers on). Maybe even arrest the mayor, since, after all, he is the boss.

Yea right. The mob runs that city. Always has and probably always will. The guns they confiscate will be added to their own personal collections.

I bet that most of all those guns disappear and go home with those police. Then they can sell them back on the streets.
They could call it the Chicago Fast and Furious.

The Mafia doesn't run Chicago anymore. Those guys are all dead or in jail.

Nowdays it's just politicians doing anything they can to get rich -- like auctioning off Senate seats.

Yeah, but they would probably turn em over the the mexican cartel to be used against us. NOT TOO GOOD!
