I hope the Tea Party gets more influence. Democrats are running scared from them and it's forcing Republicans to be more conservative.

I agree. The republicans are no longer conservative.

Even though the Tea Party has pushed the Republicans back to the right, it won't last and if the Tea Party stays with the Republicans they will move back to the left with the Republicans.

The best thing for the Tea party and America, is that the Tea Party will gain members and can branch off to their own party.

You are right on, hogger...But I suspect if they get reelected to the majority and the WH, they wont do much to undo the damage that has been done by Obummer and Pelosi and Harry...If Republicans put their vote where their mouth is, there is, there may be time to save the country..

Anything important is never left to the vote of the people. We only get to vote on some man; we never get to vote on what he is to do.

Wow, that article is some read! Sarah Palin is looking better and better as an alternative to any member of either party. We need to shrink the influence if not the size of major corporations as one would shrink a malignant tumor that is otherwise inoperable. Like the medical comparison, just the right amount of chemo and radiation with a radical dose of a wonder drug.

Redwing is right. The article is progressive propaganda. Not worth wasting time reading.

"The Democrats have their share of machine politicians, careerists, corporate bagmen, egomaniacs and kooks. Nothing, however, quite matches the modern GOP".

The above quote taken from the article says it all! The arthur of this colum is a _____!

Seems to me that this article was just another example of "chaff" intended to distract our attention away from the big picture - The United States is being sold out to the UN and the Globalist plan for a North American Union.

Has anybody heard any politician - even the "Constitutionalist" Ron Paul - declare that we should get out of the UN?

Both of the parties are owned by special interests vs. WE THE PEOPLE. A third party is a great idea and they are running scared from the thought. They both do their best to prevent a third party from happening.

Most folks put more effort in sellecting what to have for lunch than whom they are going to vote for.

In case you don't know, the folks who push McDonalds, Wendys and Burger King have the same backgrounds as the folks who push us to vote for the GOP and the Democrats.

Since I can think for myself, I think the writer of that article leans too far to the left for me and doesn't think much of religion in general and Jesus in particular.

So, I think I can disregard the rest of his bloviation. There, I thought for myself. Now I think I'll have a diet coke.

The Old Testament abounds in tales of slaughter - God ordering the killing of the Midianite male infants and enslavement of the balance of the population, the divinely-inspired genocide of the Canaanites, the slaying of various miscreants with the jawbone of an ass - and since American religious fundamentalist seem to prefer the Old Testament to the New (particularly that portion of the New Testament known as the Sermon on the Mount), it is but a short step to approving war as a divinely inspired mission. This sort of thinking has led, inexorably, to such phenomena as Jerry Falwell once writing that God is Pro-War.

Why all the hating on religion? Some things are so clear as to be funny.

Thats a very odd plot. The hamburger giants are now directing the American voters?? How do they do it by putting things in the food to make you vote for one of the two only parties??? Why is Mischell Obama attacking the hamburger giants?? Some one needs to tip her off about the "Burger Plot'. Its Big Burgers and I thought it was Big Tobacco and Big Oil. What else can the Left Wingers attack?? I know what about the Big Peanut plot. I see where peanut butter is being band in many schools. Damn its about time we must stop Big Peanut producers before its too late.

Mitch Daniels has come to the governor term limit in Indiana, and Mike Pence--currently my congressional representative--is going to be our next governor (and the election will be about a 10 percentage-point margin).

Our best option to replace Pence is a young man named Travis Hankins, though I think he's a bit of a long shot. He has pledged to spend his first six months in office attempting to reform the U.N. into a forum rather than a would-be government; if the U.N. is still attempting to govern, then he promises that he "will spend [his] energy getting the U.S. out of the U.N."
This is actually a softening of his position; he had been calling for an outright withdrawal immediately, but I think he now understands that this position is not particularly popular among the uninformed.

Once again, the uneducated really need to read up on what Ron Paul actually says and does...not what the media tells you. Dr. Paul has advocated for the US to get out of the UN for 20 years. He has even introduced legislation regarding it.

http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com...s-to-leave-un/

Paul: Time for U.S. to leave U.N.

(CNN)–Saying "I'm a believer in trade," Rep. Ron Paul says the World Trade Organization, is threatening the sovereignty of the United States.

"The WTO has now been able to come to our Congress and dictate to us, we as a Congress, and as a party has endorsed the idea that we should raise taxes on certain corporations at the directive of the W.T.O in order to satisfy and be upstanding members of the W.T.O.," The GOP presidential hopeful said Saturday. "We should never raise taxes period, but certainly because the W.T.O. tells us to do so."

Paul said the W.T.O., and other organizations that support free trade are an outgrowth of the United Nations. As a result, "I support this notion of protecting sovereignty by getting out of the United Nations," he said. The Texas Congressman said he has sponsored legislation calling for the U.S. to withdraw from the United Nations since he was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives.

Paul made his comments before a weekend retreat for Michigan Republicans on Mackinac Island, Michigan. Most of his fellow rivals for the GOP nomination were also scheduled to address the group as well.

Good one! Of course, you know I was in fact commenting upon the use of slick advertizing agencies to "sell" us political parties the same way we are sold such things as fast food.

Could it be possible that all this talk about the big bad U.N. etc, etc, is in fact a distraction? The big power brokers don't want you to see that the folks who pay the most for U.S. elections (Big Energy, Wall Street, International Corporations) are the folks who own our government.
