Default Best Republican hope for 2008

Here is what I "hope" would be our choices in 2008. What ticket would you vote for? Also, note below who you think would make an ideal Vice President.

I like Condi & Fred. Has a nice ring to it.
Poor ol' Newt is too controversial,
I admit I don't know anything about Rick S.

Looks like Hillary is slipping already.

I don't know much about former Senator Thompson, but I like what I've seen so far.

I've heard his editorials on the radio and they are great. He comes across as folksy and down to earth. I'd love to see him debate Senator Clinton. Her shrill, snotty voice versus his smooth voice would be worth a lot of votes.

I don't see my favorite "Republican" candidate. Unfortunately, he probably has a snowball's chance.

Ron Paul

'Nuff said.

I could easily live with that, John. Paul is really a libertarian at heart though as a Texas congressman, he is officially listed as a Republican. Like you say though, I don't think he has much of a chance at securing the Republican nomination. Were he to run as a third-party candidate, it would likely hand the election to the ~!@#$ Democrats.

I agree. Ron Paul would be an outstanding president. But I don't see much chance of getting him there at this point.

I saw on Fox News that Fred Thompson is running 3rd, and even 2nd in some polls, as the choice of Republicans. What's interesting is that he isn't even actively campaigning. I hope he decides to run. He might just make it to the nomination since a LOT of Republicans are unhappy with both the "liberals in disguise" current front runners.

I have been dreaming of a Barr/Rice ticket, but....

Thompson doesn't have to campaign much, just yet. When he does start, he will have to give up his spot as a Paul Harvey sub. In the meantime, he is doing just fine where he is.

Rice for President doesn't have much chance. However, Rice in the VP slot, across another female (giving the other ***** the benefit of the doubts) would be a kicker for whomever she was backing up.

I'm afraid we will be faced with a weak Republican candidate, a favorite of the MSM on the democrat's ticket and a fairly strong 3rd party spoiler. The Republicans are still jumping at shadows whenever the MSM shows up and will not pay any attention to what their voting base is saying. The democrats will appoint either Obominable or Shrillery, which ever is getting the best press at convention time and I visualize the MSM starting to give a lot of press exposure to whichever 3rd party candidate sounds the goofiest.

I'm not cynical, but I am experienced.

She would be better than those now running, however, she is more than half RINO. Just look at her actions on the Middle East, which forsake Israel and kowtow to the Palestinians, who really have NO LEGITIMATE claim on ANYTHING.

Is anyone besides me getting the feeling that the Republican Party is drifting more and more to the left? Just look at the front-running candidates for nomination in 2008--John McCain and Rudy Giuliani--neither of whom could be reasonably called a strong conservative. Yes, there are some possible conservative candidates running around out there--Fred Thompson and Ron Paul, for example--but how much chance do they really have of gaining the Republican nomination? I have a strong sense that in 2008 we will be faced with only a choice between an extreme liberal like Clinton, who is somewhere to the left of Vladimir Lenin, and a RINO like Giuliani. What better way to accomplish the liberal agenda than to offer the American people no real choice at all?

Unfortunately that is what it looks like.

The ultimate survival of our great Republic needs a miracle......

Be of good cheer... Fred Thompson WILL run. Count on it.
