Default Walther PPS

Picked up my new Walther PPS a couple of days ago in Savannah, Ga. I think I paid too much ($595) but after firing the first magazine of ammo thru it my buyers remorse vanished.

If you like Walthers I think you'll be very pleased with the extremely slim PPS.

It's $599+ here in Alabama (Prattville and Montgomery). I'm looking into a P99, myself.

MNF:

If you are considering a P99 I encourage you to consider the "AS" (Anti-stress) version.. It's traditional DA/SA and has the finest trigger/striker I've even found on a firearm..

I wish the PPS had the "AS" trigger/striker vs the Glocktype...

If you have an interest you might check out the website www.waltherforums.com. You can get all sorts of help there from the folks who actually own the pistol you might be considering.

FWIW, I've owned a surplus PP,P1,P5, and own a P99c/AS, P99/AS and now the PPS and "so far" I've never been disappointed with any Walther I've ever owned.

Best Wishes,

I hate California!!!!!

I was looking for another pistol, and this one fits the bill perfectly.
But guess what? California did not approve it.

I agree wholeheartedly. If the PPS had the AS trigger, one would be my daily carry piece. But I don't really have a use for a full size pistol like the P99, so I don't currently have any Walthers.

Another old thread back from the dead. Does anyone look at post dates?

I've had my eye on a PPS for a long time, but haven't had the opportunity yet. It'll happen soon.

I think the "similar threads" feature at the bottom of the page is likely the culprit. But I don't find it as annoying as some do when long-dead threads are dredged back to the surface.

I wish i could afford a PPS

Nice Walther pictures. The P99AS is loaded, the P99C and PPS are not.

I have had my PPS about 6 months and paid the same as you. Mine also shoots very well and easy to conceal. I carry it often.

Ya, PPS is very "slim", easy to conceal dressin summer cloths too.

Yes, I looked at the date.
It is better to bump an old thread than to start a new one IMO.

I want one of these, but they are not legal here in Cali.

Sorry to sound snarky. I generally don't care much about post dates, but long silent threads have been popping up frequently lately. It bothers me more when someone uses a thread that hasn't had a response in over two years to ask a question. Sometimes when this happens, the original poster and many of the other posters in the thread have moved on and aren't even using this forum anymore.

Anyway... thread drift.

Yay PPS!

As I stated above... had my eye on one for a long time. Still planning to get one, but haven't been able to decide 9mm or .40.

Around central Indiana, ammo for the .40 is WAY more readily available. Every shop has 10+ boxes on the shelf, even Walmart (which is the only place in my new town that sells ammo). We're still pretty lucky to see 9mm.

Of course, Utah will necessarily be a different situation.

Utah has actually been in a pretty similar situation lately. I don't own anything in 9mm or .40 right now, but I've been keeping my eyes open just to know what's out there. .40 seems more available. .380 is virtually non-existent.

I bought 4 boxes of .380 Privi FMJ for $21 each on Sunday, and I got some Magtech JHP for $26 (50 rounds) today. Sunday was a gun show; today I'm in Lexington and went to the physical store of Bud's Gun Shop.

Around here, gun shops usually have a little, but Walmart and such never has any.
