I use to load for the 33 Winchester when I had an 86 in that caliber and as recall I used a Hornady .338 flat nose bullet but I don't remember the weight or model number. It shot good but I never hunted with it I only shot some rocks with it.

I shoot rocks all the time with my M1.

The latest caliber or gear is no substitute for experience and skill. Rifles and cartridges don't make hits -- shooters do.
