Default Valentine's Deal

Hmm, this is a strange deal, makes me actually want the diamonds...

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. -- Valentine's Day shoppers are getting more 'bang' for their buck at one Eau Claire store.

It's an unusual combination. Buy a pair of diamond earrings, get a free gun.

General Coin and Gun Exchange owner Brian Zinn says since "guys like guns and girls like diamonds," he figured he "mesh the two together this year." He says some wives have been sending their husbands into the store to take advantage of the 'bang bling' deal.

Zinn says if you buy a $400 pair of diamond earrings, you can pick any gun in the store worth under $300.

The free gun deal runs through Valentine's Day.

Yeah, it could only be something cheapo for this kind of deal. Makes me wonder what kind of diamonds they're trying to sell too...Still, my curiosity is piqued!

Still, I think it expresses a nice sentiment for the up coming holiday.

There was a sewing machine shop in Wichita that for years sold certain models that came with an 870 shotgun. My wife doesn't sew.

A local (Knox, TN) county politico offered a new mid-level single-shot shotgun to anyone who purchased a used car from his lot. The anti's had a fit, generating priceless coverage for his business. 'Lumpy' Lambert increased his auto sales considerably that month. Of course, the buyer had to be 'qualified' to possess a firearm, distributed via a "Lumpy-voucher" from a local gun shop.

Now that's more of a deal to me! Too bad they don't do shotguns and sewing machines anymore. Maybe this is the start of a new trend--let's hope!

The bigger the diamond - the bigger the gun?

Heck, if the gun was decent for $400, I'd give away the diamonds!

That proves Marilyn Monroe was correct....."diamonds ARE a girl's best friend."

I asked Momma what she wants for the day and she said a nice quiet day to herself, so she's sending my boy and I to Reno for the day to hit Cabela's, Sportsman's Warehouse, Scheeles, In-N-Out, The Tinder Box.....

I have the ultimate Valentine's Day planned, starting with a gun show in the morning, then an afternoon meal out somewhere interesting for people-watching. It's gonna be a good one!
