Congrats Pat!! My spouse and I are coming up on 31 years in February, so long-term marriages are possible despite what the statistics say!

I truly never thought I could do it. In my teens and very early 20's I was an accomplished skirt chaser (not very proud of that now, of course) and found the concept of monogamy very foreign. But I know now that if you really wanna change... you can. I'm proof.

I just found out by text that a friend of mine got married this p.m.

And I dunno where he is and I'm too drunk to drive where ever he might to be if I knew to go to kick his *ss.

Delta, it all comes down to a very simple logical argument:

Premise 1: Marriage is an institution.
Premise 2: Marriage is love.
Premise 3: Love is blind.
Conclusion: Therefore, marriage is an institution for the blind!

Hey Pat, First of all congratulations to both of you, I firmly believe that it takes both to make a marriage work. So both of you deserve congratulations. My poor wife has been putting up with my nonsence for 39 years come April of 2008

I think she just took pity on any other unsuspecting females out there and decided to keep me off the market.

Thanks to all of you for the kind thoughts. I'm encouraged by how many of you have far exceeded the 20th anniversary milestone. Wow!

Makes me think I can put up with her mother a while longer.

Well, we had a stretch limo pick us up (with chilled champagne), we drove to Ruth's Chris Steak house for some filet mignon and lobster tail. Then off to 5th Avenue for a romantic stroll and a decaf cappucino. And finally the long ride home. Our 11 year old son was really jealous... "why can't I ride in this thing with you?!" Ahhh, youth.

It was a great night... and the dessert was fantastic.
