My name is wuzz. It's been 17 days since my last rifle purchase.
It's a 1980s vintage (Japan manufacture) Browning Model 1895 in caliber .30-06. I don't really need it. ![]()

It is ok if you don't need it as long as you like it.

Wuzz, I have his brother made by Winchester in 30-06. I also have the Browning 1886 in 45-70. Both new manufacture (1980's ?) Love em.
What caliber is your 1895? Nice looking piece. May have to find one. ![]()

Well, if it was good enough for Teddy Roosevelt (his favorite hunting rifle), it oughta be good enough for anybody.

inplano: it's a .30-06 and it's unfired and (obviously) "in box". It reminds me of the old "Blondia" cartoon where Blondie comes home with thousands of dollars worth of stuff but explains to Dagwood: "...It was on sale-- think of all the money I saved."

Yea Wuzz, been there too. Just had too much cash in my pocket to turn it down. Oh woe is me! Good luck with it. I know I appreciate mine a lot. Still have not fired it yet, I just take it out of the safe and admire it for a while. Same way with the Browning.
![]() Yup, gonna have to find one for the safe!

Need? Need? I thought profane four letter words were banned on most of these forums.

Hi Wuzz! I had one back when they were released and shot the devil out of it for years, both at the range and hunting. Filled the freezer several times and loved it.
Unfortunately it was stolen during a break-in while on vacation about ten years ago. Would love to have another but can't afford it now.
