Merry Christmas guys and gals.
Please forgive me for my Rifle history ignorance. but i was recently given my grandfathers Remington 30-06 that he used for many years. Im having trouble getting information on the gun due to someone drilling for a scope. I believe that the rifle is a sporterized model 1903 but im not 100% sure. if anyone could help me with the model and any other information that would be great!!! the barrel is stamped RA 9-41 ![]() ![]() ![]()

I'll take a look tomorrow when I have more time. Those big pictures take forever to download on a dial-up line.
If you have a photo editor, like Photoshop, or Nikon View, you can crop the pictures to eliminate extraneous stuff, or just reduce the pixel count. You can do that with some cameras also - check your manual. Jim |

You can delete you pix, if you want, and make this easier to work with.

You have a US Rifle, model of 1903, generally referred to as a 1903 Springfield. Yours was made by Remington, and according to the serial number, it was made in 1941, so, presumably, that's the original barrel (RA 9-41 meaning Remington Arms, made in September 1941).
