I hope and pray that the AWB will sunset but I have a bad feeling about it. My bad feeling(s) stem from the belief that Bush & Co. has left us high and dry to fend for ourselves. If he wants to have a chance at re-election he should watch who he puts the screws to.
Considering how sneaky many politicians are it would not surprise me if a new AWB was slid "under the radar" and attached as a rider on another piece of legislation that on the surface appears harmless. Example;look at the "Patriot Act". It was jammed through quickly, and quite a few legislators DID NOT have an opportunity to read the bill.
In fact, a publication (Insight on the news)printed an interview with a legislator from Texas (9 Nov 2001)about what took place.
I seriously doubt that this was the first time something like this happened. I would not put it past liberal politicians and anti-gun organizations to try this maneuver with another AWB.
The entire interview can be found here.
I know that this interview doesn't concern the AWB. My intent was to show that other bills could be pushed through ,especially ones that aren't popular.
