Any suggestions about what product I would use to protect the bore and exterior metal of an old shotgun that is not safe to shoot any longer?

Thanks.

Absolutely. RustePrufe! The best. We use it exclusively, and have for the past 15 years or so.

Polish has been known to insert old shotguns somewhere and they come out with a lovely protective coating

Yes, I prefer browning on my Brownings...
Patina is a custom finish that must be EARNED to be appreciated.
