I'm getting old and in need of a lighter weight 5 inch 1911.
I 'm considering a S&W 5 inch with a scandium frame. Do any of you know if that particular 1911 can be fitted with a Bar-Sto barrel? Can it be fitted with a Cylinder and Slide Sear and Hammer? I have not seen a S&W 1911 disassembled, and I don't know if aftermarket 1911 parts will fit or not. Please respond if you can answer the questions, and many thanks!

Can't speak to Smith's dimensioning, directly, but, calling it a(n) 1911, implies that it is a 'mil spec' buit pistol; if that is so, all the **** will fit!
