Unhappy Lost a friend today

I've lost a friend today. He's been sick for quite some time... liver (not from drinking) and diabetes. In the past several months he's been in and out of the hospital. They brought him home almost a month ago after some ICU time and recovery just to have him have a small heart attach a few hours after arriving home. They rushed him back to the hospital where he spent some more time. At this point he requested a DNR bracelet. He said he didn't want to die in the hospital so they sent him home and had Hospice visiting. Two days ago he started having system shut-down and was given 72 hours (do they do that to everyone). This morning I got the call. Pronounced at 3:00 a.m on 11-11-11. He was square with his Maker of that I am sure. I just ask for prayers for those that mourn their loss instead of celebrating his life. I know he's in a better place and at peace with the Lord.

We mourn our losses and the holes left in our lives, not the passing of our loved ones - for they are in a perfect place. Prayers sent from Illinois ~

Amen to all those prayers and well wishes -

Lord, we ask that you would have mercy on the family and friends of this man.
As we live here below in this physical life we see death as the ceasation of existance, but we know that it is a mere transition from this mortal physical life into the next phase of our eternal existance. We know you see it this way, and are in control of all that we see here and all that we do not see as well.
We ask, father, that you would be with each one and help them to understand this.
We ask that you would comfort them, and let each know that you are there to lean upon and to draw strength from at this time.

We ask these things, and we thank you for the answer to them, in the name of Jesus the Christ, the Alpha and the Omega.

Amen -

Thank you, thank you all. As I said, he had made his peace and was ready. I think what bothers me the most was to hear the way his family was carrying on about his worldly possessions. He had no wife or children, just kin. To hear them go on over who wanted what before he was gone really turns my stomach. Thank you all again for the prayers.

Rest well Mike in the hands of our Savior.
