Default Thousands rally for legislation on climate change

The protest on energy and climate came as Washington began digging out from its largest snowfall of the season. Organizers noted that climate change causes more extreme weather, and they said the issue is important enough that people were willing to brave the cold.

(CNSNews.com) – Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) had to cancel an appearance Monday at a global warming rally in Washington, D.C., that was hit by a snowstorm because her flight was delayed, her office told CNSNews.com.

Brianna Cayo-Cotter, the spokesman for the Energy Action Coalition that held the rally, told a group of reporters that she had been in contact with Pelosi and that her flight had been delayed because of inclement weather.

A blizzard Sunday night and early Monday morning blanketed the nation’s capital with snow, causing events to be cancelled and delayed across the city.

House Select Energy Independence and Global Warming Chairman Edward Markey (D-Mass.), who was scheduled to speak at the global warming event, also canceled his appearance because of the inclement weather, a spokesman from his committee’s office told CNSNews.com on Monday.

As I stated in the Pump House. This is further evidence that God has a sense of humor.

I see that Japan has jumped off the bandwagon, now saying the UN Report is NOT correct in that man is NOT causing a climate change. Their conclusion right now is that it is a natural cycle NOT tied to man's CO2 emissions. The evidence is that while CO2 continues to rise each year, the global warming ceased several years ago.

Of course, that is part of the reason that they now decry 'climate change' instead of the older (and now proven incorrect) Global Warming. IOW, SOMETHING is happening, we don't know what, we don't know how, but it is OUR FAULT!!

I remember a cartoon from MANY years ago, in the midst of the flower-power days, when there was a tremendous surge of anti-nuclear sentiment raging in the country.
It showed two typical Fred Flintsone type guys standing in the entrance of their cave looking out at a pouring rain. One says to the other "We never had weather this bad until they started playing around with those bow-and-arrow things!"

We believe ourselves to be FAR more powerful than we truly are.

Did I hear a few weeks ago that Al Gore himself admitted there has been no global warming because of the lower sunspot activity this 11 year cycle? From what I heard, Al warns us that global warming will come back with a vengance in just a few years. Good thing Al has three corporations set up to take our money when when it does happen

Popgunner,

Al Gore actually looked up at the sun? He has never mentioned it's effects, at least till now.... It is true the Sun is in a period of reduced activity, and that we could be seeing a trend not seen for some time. Al just might have to waite for longer than expected to recieve any money. Kirk

In what political watchers are calling possibly the biggest gaffe in years, former Vice President Al Gore is set to give a speech tomorrow on the perils of global warming -- on what is expected to be the coldest day in New England in nearly half a century!

It would have been more perfect if the Coal-fired plant being protested just shut down while the protest was going on to show what their absence means to their customers.

I've often thought there'd be a lot less global warming and CO2 emissions if Al gore would just keep his mouth shut.
