In my job (Land Surveyor) there has been much discussion concerning the title we call ourselves. some people have argued that Surveyor does not accurately describe what we as a discipline have evolved into. Some folks argue that a more descriptive name would help our standing in the professional community. So my question is what do you call yourself ?
Reloader? Hand loader? Developer of highly accurate ammunition? All the way!!....AIRBORNE

Since I willingly left the job market 10 years ago, I call myself retired.

Not all of it is "highly accurate", some is for plinking at close range. And since I have both single stage and progressives, not all could be truly called "hand loaded". So I guess I'm a 'reloader'.
Of course, I just call myself 'Al'. ![]() |

I'm a handloader. I believe there is a difference between Reloader and Handloader. A reloader assembles some components with the objective of all going bang with reasonable accuracy and as cheaply as possible. Quantity is foremost. Shooting more is the end result. A handloader, after researching reloading manuals, custom makes ammo for a specific gun for a specific job. The results are optimum accuracy and preformance on game. Quality is foremost.

Depends,
I reload pistol ammunition on a progressive and handload precision rifle on a single stage press, I would quantify these "self titles" to which press is being used at the time.

With kudos to Sarah, "I'm not a retreater, I'm a reloader!"
More accurately, a "Recycled ammunition manufacturer" Last edited by vulcrider; 01-20-2011 at 09:22 PM.. |

I am Dad, Grandpa and semi-retired Handyman. Oh, I also reload, shoot and keep the economy going by buying and selling guns for fun and profit.

Let's see now,
1) I'm a "handloader" because I'm into handloading my own ammo. 2) I'm a "reloader" because I reload my empties. 3) I'm a handloader 'cause I'm into reloading. 4) I'm a reloader 'cause I'm into handloading. 5&6) I know I don't want to be a "roller" 'cause I roll my own fodder and I certainly don't want to be a "fodderer" 'cause, well, 'cause that sounds just plain rediculous... so I guess I'll go with #1. ![]() |

If you ask my wife i would be in the same boat as Steve. But if you ask me, i would say the same as John a firearms enthusiast. As i like to build different rifles and see how accurate i can get them to shoot with my reloads.

Any time I talk about anything gun related all my wife says is "you're nuts", seems to fit I guess.

Since I am also retired and enjoy reloading, perhaps I am nothing more than a paper puncher. Reloading is a great hobby and therapy, shooting is a pleasant way to enjoy the fruits of my hobby and introduce my grandsons to shooting sports. Gramps is a good title.
