First, everybody, please see "An explanation" on the General Disc. board.
It appears that will be the name on my album. not a lot of votes either way, so I will go with this one.
below is what I hope for the album cover plus a list on the contents. On the cover, I am going to try to get some good graphics. If any of you are good at designing, I could use the help. My idea for the background:
crossed American flags (on staffs) with a helmet superimposed on them, center.
across the bottom the RVN service ribbon and campaign ribbon with the POW/MIA flag on each end

The lettering of the album title and other info printed over the images.

any suggestions?

Here is the info:
FRONT:

I have attempted to provide all music recorded by the original artist.
All poems written and read by Stan Hutchison

btw, I know I have not included all the great songs of that time, plus I added some others. I wanted to add a bit of patriotic fervor to the album.
Of coure this is all tentative, based on getting rights to include the songs. I have a lot of legal wrangling ahead of me,,anyone know a good lawyer??

Actually Stan, I know of a great Entertainment lawyer, he's with my firm and he's here in NYC (his clients include NSYNC, Brittany Spears, Dick Clark and some more)... if you'd like, I will ask him for a name closer to you... (I'll wait for a response)

By the way, this album sounds awesome... great idea... glad your narrating your own poems too.

But, if ya ever need a Will done there's a Korean War vet here who's a lawyer, who I work with... was a Marine, but hey.... he's partial to me...

"Billy Joel
Goodnight Saigon
-B. Joel

We met as soul mates on Parris Island
We left as inmates from an asylum
And we were sharp, as sharp as knives
And we were so gung ho to lay down our lives

We came in spastic like tameless horses
We left in plastic, as numbered corpses
And we learned fast to travel light
Our arms were heavy, but our bellies were tight

We had no home front, we had no soft soap
They sent us Playboy, they gave us Bob Hope
We dug in deep and shot on sight
And prayed to Jesus Christ with all our might

We had no cameras to shoot the landscape
We passed the hash pipe and played our Doors tapes
And it was dark, so dark at night
And we held on to each other like brother to brother
We promised our mothers we'd write

And we would all go down together
We said we'd all go down together
Yes we would all go down together

Remember Charlie, remember Baker
They left their childhood on every acre
And who was wrong? And who was right?
It didn't matter in the thick of the fight

We held the day in the palm of our hands
They ruled the night and the night
Seemed to last as long as six weeks On Parris Island
we held the coastline they held the highlands

And they were sharp as sharp as knives
They heard the hum of our motors
They counted the rotors
And waited for us to arrive

And we would all go down together
We said we'd all go down together
Yes we would all go down together"

nighthawk, I think you should be looking at "albums" not album, it looks like you are going to be quite busy for awhile. I would add my two cents but it looks like you are getting swamped. - Hope
