Well Im thinking of shooting a little competition with my S/A 1911 A-1. When I bought it I also bought a Chip McCormick 8RD mag that came with a 1/2" plastic butt bumper. Cause Im a little low on cash for another mag at the moment I just took a piece of Delrin industrial white plastic and cut a 1/2" butt bumper, tapped the holes and used some screws form some old electronics parts I tore apart for the factory mag. I got the idea cause the Kimber Pro-Mag I bought for my Micro Compact had two butts and two sets of screws. So I just tapped out the holes on the factory mag for the micro and thats that. Now I have my two factory mags with butt bumpers. So far it makes a heck of a difference when I go to seat it in the well. If anyone is interested in a butt bumper for their factory S/A mag let me know.
Heres a pic of the A-1 Mag.
