info, question

I was recently at my gunsmith visiting when A guy brought him a Colt, 1911, 38 Super sn 13998 if I remember correctly.
I believe the gun was made around 1931.

My question has to do with something engraved on the side.
It was "Vincent Award".
Anyone have any idea of this particular award or where to look to find some background.

I am doing all this for myself and from memory of what I saw of the gun at the time and that was several days ago. Has nothing to do with evaluation, just for my own edification/education.

I can't beleive you did not google it or use some other search engine. It is a European Award given to artist for something...

actually Mr D, I did google it and other searches as well.
Admittedly, I am not computer genius but can struggle through basic searches.

My google did not reveal any tie or mention of this Award, with firearms. The award as I mentioned in my question was engraved on the side of a Colt pistol made in the 30s and nothing that I found in the Wiki or Google searches has mentioned this award and firearms.

I thought the background, knowledge, experience etc that I have witnessed on this site might have come across such an award and might shed some light on where to look or some idea of what the award might be relative to firearms/shooting.

Can we try again.

I'm thinking that the current Vincent Award is unrelated to this gun, as it was first awarded in the year 2000.

I thought is was just me. Especially when Mr D told me I should have googled it.

Anyway, thanks all, I don't feel so bad. I couldn't get any kind of tie-in with that artistic award and firearms, but thought I had missed something.

Like I pointed out in the beginning, this colt was made in the thirties, but I suppose the "award" could have been engraved any time since.

I'll keep looking as I am curious as to what it might have been in it's time.
