Default New (to me) .357 Magnum

Came across this Saturday at a gun show here in NC. Always wanted one, and the deal was right. Looks like the stars and planets were aligned just right.

She's a 1964 S&W Model 27.
5 inch barrel.
Target hammer and trigger.
1/8" Patridge front sight.
1/8" adjustable rear sight.
Pinned and recessed.
Goncalo Alves target stocks.

Needless to say, I'm a little happy. When I brought it home, my wife asked me if I was going to snuggle with it when I went to sleep.

Very nice. I think the Model 27 was the top of the heap of S&W revolvers and that five incher is a great example.

I never was interested in Smith revolvers when growing up. It was always a Colt or Ruger, then I bought a Model 686 with the larger grip frame. I now have two Model 686s
in 4" and 6" and wonder why that was. I truely love these guns and prefer the .357 magnum over other calibers. I would like to find a very nice condition model 19 someday.
