I found myself forced to take exception. Nothing against Glocks personally; don't have one, don't want one. But calling Glock "America's Pistol" is like Obama talking about the historical contributions of Muslims in America. It does not compute.
So, I give you the following. The gun that has served Americans on battlefields around the world for 100 years, and isn't mentioned in articles as being favored by Tupac and Dr. Dre (whoever they may be, but I can guess).

Beautiful shot, Juker, and never more truth stated than that it is the ONE and ONLY -
"AMERICA's PISTOL"

If rappers didnt always rap about their glocks, I have a feeling that not as many people would even know what a glock is. Are they good? yes, are they for everyone? no are they really americas pistol? heh, the 1911's outsell the glocks around here all day.

I own a Block, eh, I mean Glock but I don't like it.
I let my son use it as his duty weapon. He seems to love it , I know I taught my boy better than that, but once they get grown, you lose control of them.![]() I will absolutely go along with the 1911 being America's Pistol.

Glock .... America's Pistol. I just can't say that without washing my mouth out afterwards!

Neither of those pistols would "be" what they are today, if not for the greatest country on earth, America.

To rile the posters even more than the mention of Glock (they aren't up there with my like of 1911s, but I still like them) would be to mention the NPR podcast interview with the author of the book. Actually, I found the discussion of the development and creative marketing to be quite interesting.
