Default A new 9mm version of the SIG P238

Is this close enough to a 1911 to go here?

Anyways, SIG just put it up on their site. Basically the 938 is just a 238 in 9mm. From the stats the size difference is almost nothing.

http://sigsauer.com/CatalogProductLi...tols-p938.aspx

The P938 (9mm) is on top, the P238 (.380) is on bottom:

I carry my P238 all the time. This is finally a pistol in 9mm I could get behind. MSRP does not mean much as I picked mine up from a Sig dealer for $320 NIB so if the 9mm becomes available for under $400 it would be a nice piece.

I really want one. As the 238 in my area is about $480 new, I expect the 'in-store price' to be about $550-$600 for the 938. I'd pay that considering that the Kimber Solo is higher and its a DAO.

WOW! You'd never see a price like that here in NY state. Never.

In Georgia either, I paid right at $500 for my 238!! If I could get the 9mm close to that, I would do some trading!

The 9mm will not be under $500, much less $400. We are direct with SIG, and the real retail price of the base 938 is $629, with variations a little higher. The P238 is about $100 less expensive across the board.

Worth a look when they hit the shelves, I think. The guys at my local gun shop looked at them at the SHOT Show and and came away very impressed.

My P238 was 569 I believe. If you can get them for 400 I will take 3.

they had a special deal on 10 of them. I had been handling them enough to the point where they could almost not consider them new anymore. One of the clerks called me when the special price hit and I rushed down there. I bought number nine. By the time I got home and decided I should get the last one it was gone. It is the basic black model but for a daily carry piece I don't want flashy. Been carrying it now for a little over a year. Will have to stop by and let them know I am interested in the 9mm if the price drops like that again. This time I will get them all.

If the 9mm is as nice and smooth as the .380 it is worth every penny. I got the 380 for my wife the blued with rosewood grips. The finish isn't all that but the gun itself is great and very well fitted. My wife loves to shoot even more now.

I haven't gotten a 238 because I already have a pocket .380, and I am not yet to the point that I can have multiple guns filling the same role.

But I don't have a pocket 9mm...
