Welcome to TFF, dog.

Many years ago, an Army unit I was in had several of them that were used by a pistol team. I don't remember a whole lot about them. I don't think they had the slots cut into the top where optics could be mounted, but like I said, that was many years ago. You should be able to get a gunsmith to tap it so that you could put a red dot on it..

No problem Dogwspts and you're welcome.
Nice history with you HS staying in the family.

I really liked the one I "had" and enjoyed shooting it. With the fully open eject, it stays cleaner then most semi-auto's. (talk about going through the CCI Blazer's), those pistols are fast shooters!

I'm sure you'll enjoy yours and the one I had was very accurate.

...mine had the rear sight fitted in a dovetail and when I got it, it was shooting a bit off to the right. Whoever had it in the past had tried to adjust the rear sight and had "buggered" it up a bit and looked as though, they tried to tap it over with a "hammer"!
I ended up taking a punch and slightly "tapping" it over to adjust it the sight.

There is no good way to install an optic on a High Standard Sport King. Perhaps someone could make a grip adapter with a mount over the top of the receiver, but otherwise my suggestion is to just enjoy the gun with open sights.

I'd have to agree, witht the "fast" receiver slide-back on those HS's open sites are good.
After I got mine cleand for the fisrt time and put a touch of SBGO, it was super fast. Had mine out shooting it one day and trying to see just how fast it was with several 10rd mags, I was talking to a neighbor the next day and he asked "who was shooting that automatic gun up your way the other day?"
