Friday I bought this knife. It is a low end knife and there is really nothing special about it. However it is heavy with a full tang and is well balanced. The handle is in great shape, but the edge had never been sharpened. It was about as dull as a knife can be. It came with a sheath. On the knife is says SURGICAL STEEL. The knife is made out of Pakistani steel and it is a hard steel and pretty impressive. I have sharpened it and it will shave hair clean to the skin with one swipe. It will be interesting to see if it holds a desent edge over time. I know it's a cheap knife and it's certainly not anything to brag about, but does anybody know anything about a Chipaway knife? How about the "SURGICAL STEEL"? How about Pakistani steel? I am curious because it's really not a bad knife and I only paid $15.00 for it. I probably didn't get a screaming deal but I think it's worth what I paid. These kinds of knifes make great gifts for grandsons when they are ready to start getting into knives.
Thanks, Jim

ohhh, excellent skinner profile and would make a fine boning knife at the same time. I like knives that fill both bills for game processing.
Nice find!

I sell chipaways in my shop. I get them from tennessee. They are not high end but they are decent knifes at a decent price so enjoy it.

When you get them brand new, they are sharp as a razor and they are nice looking knives. I order the fixed blades mostly because thats what seems to sell. I like their 12-13" knives the best. I dont shop knife prices but they seem to be good knives for the money. We arent talking collector pieces or anything but they will get the job done. I like them.

Nice looking knife, Jim!
I like how the handel is made with the good grip style. Anxious to see how the edge holds up for you. I bought a knife about 10yrs ago (cant recall where it was made) but didnt pay that much for it. I got it and put me a good edge on it and it's held up all this time....I carry it on the ATV.

That's a good thing Jim, getting them out like that.
I havent got any grandkids (yet) but usually take the nephews and my son out and get into something in the outdoors. It's good for them and good for me as well.

Double, 3rd pic down, bottom knife on the right. What is it called and how much. It's the blue handle with the gut hook.

It comes with a tanned leather sheath and it is 24.00 plus a little shipping. Not sure what the name is.

a big +1 on that Jim!
I was looking today at the one I keep in the ATV and it is made in Pakistan. I'm not sure the "name" of it, but it's a longer 3 blade knife. (i've had it for years)

I think I will be doing business with Double D on one, maybe two of them shortly. I will let you know which ones I get and I can't wait to try them this hunting season.
