Default Kimber 1911 ?

I have a stainless Kimber target II mdl in 10mm.

Rather then do a bunch of searching I was wondering if anyone know if they make a conversion to 45 acp?

Not to my knowledge. The slide would have to be replaced along with the barrel. Also the ejector would have to be swapped out or shortened.

I don't know for sure but I would think by the time you bought a new slide and barrel you would be thinking about a new gun. I have a new Kimber slide, 45 barrel, front locking ring, spring and plunger I would sell for $300.00. That is the good news, the bad news it one of those very early custom shop guns that they rounded every thing for concealed carry. The slide I think is nickeled or hard chromed I can send you pictures. Also I will send it to you and if you like send me a check if not send it back. I will pay the freight to you whether you buy it or not but you pay the freight if you choose to send it back.

I got the gun and then bought a Kimber 22 conversion for it and I have never put the 45 slide back on it since then and thats been about ten years ago.

You might also want to check to make sure your gun will accept a 45 magazine.

Ron

I just saw Helix post and he is a sharp guy but I am not sure I agree the ejector would have to be changed. If you decide you want to try out my slide I have no problem you shooting it to see if it works and you can still send it back unless you modify it in some way.

from what i have seen so far it seems that you can convert a 45 to 10 not the other way around.

so just wondered.

I don't think that is correct, so long as you change the barrel and slide you can make any frame a 22 to 45 or the other way around.

Your probably right muddober, you could go with what you go on the ejector but I was thinking the timing might be off. 10mm and .40 technically have a longer ejector to kick them out sooner. Using that ejector on a 45 might eject it before it clears the barrel hood. It would have to be shot to be seen. I'd take muddober up on the offer. 300 for a slide and barrel is cheap.
