If it was like NIB or close to it, I'd jump all over it!
I had to pass on one that had never been fired here a while back for right around $400...I didnt have the $'s at the time. And as long as the ammo is decent ammo, a plus.

+1. You can't beat a Henry. The ammo makes it over the top great.

I wouldn't.
First - the thousand rounds. That sounds like a lot, but for 22s, that's two bricks. What's that? 40 bucks? So that means the gun is 360. And in my opinion, that gun ain't worth 360 dollars. I might go 200 for one. Maybe. I've heard too many stories about "plastic action parts". I've got plastic on lots of guns. Triggers, butt plates, barrel bands. But not in the action.

My brother has one, we both like it! Sugested retail on these guns is a little over $500, so I would jump on it if I were you, so long as you feel comfortabe with the price.

It appears to e a decent price. I would first check your nearest gun shops as to the going price on Golden Boys .22. I would be curious as to how HRC would deal with warranty problems?BTW I don't believe there are any plastic parts in the action! Cliff

I have the standard Henry .22lr and got it used when I got it for my
birthday. Ive got and had a LOT of .22' rifles. In my most serious and honest opinion.... You can Beat a Henry Rifle with the right Ammo!!! Ive shot alot of them...ACCURATE and dependable. Like Carver was saying on the sugg. retail price, it's about the same around here. You can get them a bit cheaper, but $400 for a GoldenBoy in VERY good shape, the extra ammo or not,..... My advice Beth, have a good look at the rifle and look it over and see what sort of shape it's in and how well it has been taken care of (tells a lot) and go with what you feel comfortable with.

I would normally sell a golden boy for around 389.00 or so. Add the ammo and you have 430.00 so 400 isnt a bad deal Beth.

I just did a real quick online price comparison and the absolute cheapest I saw it was $385.99 and that is without the two bricks of ammo. Jump on it when he answers you, I would!!

Beth, I'd say that a fair deal.
![]() But!... You should see how it fits yer shoulder. I have a H001t. It's pretty much the same rifle without the gold colored receiver. Look closely at the pics in the links, and you'll see the difference in the stock and how it drops down below the barrel. If ya like the fit, buy it. http://henryrepeating.com/rifle-goldenboy.cfm http://henryrepeating.com/rifle-leve...TOKEN=88794686

If it was made in 99 or 2000 it could have a plastic carrier in it. If it does Henry will replace it free of charge.

If it's what you want and great condition, sure.
Personaly, I love the style but wouldn't spend that on a .22. I'd spend a little more and get a .30-30. But that's just me. |
