Heck, if I could shoot groups inside a penny every shooting time, I'd be
a happy shooter! (anything out past 25yds, anyways.)

Goes well with your Rifle!
How do you like the Weaver Scope?

The scope is really nice. If I continue to use it just for target practice, especially 100 yards or beyond, I may swap it out for a 5-20 or 6-24 and put the Weaver on my 10/22. The 10/22 needs a better scope anyone.
The reticle has fine crosshairs and a fine dot in the middle. You can put it on a gnats a*% if needed. I can't wait to get out next weekend and try some more ammo through it. |

Below is what you typed: You shouldn't have any trouble getting smaller than a penny. I'd say you could go under a half penny but they were actually about the size of a quarter I was simply clearing up my statement that some of the groups were under a penny. |

I was talking about half pennies being the size of a quarter. A half penny is a coin that was made about 150 years ago when the daily wage was about a dollar. Back then you could buy lots of stuff with half a penny. They were coins that were about the size of a quarter. I mentioned that but apparently you didn't understand what I meant. It was a joke about half penny coins being bigger than penny coins. You can find more information on half penny coins on this web page. Here's a photo of one. These coins were made up until about the 1850's.

I'm considering moving one of these to my CZ .22 and getting a Sightron SIII 8-32 for the .223. |

No problem. I figured that's what happened. I just didn't want you to think I was insulting you, your shooting or your rifle. I have the same rifle so I know that it was a very good choice. CZ's are hard to beat.
BTW I have a Weaver T-36 scope on my CZ. It's excellent for target shooting. I have a 6-18X40 on my Savage .223 for long distance shooting. Anything much stronger and mirage problems start happening. Last edited by CJ_56; 03-06-2012 at 08:58 AM.. |

good things about them! ![]() Ive got a 8-32 on my AR .223, but looking to put a tactical style scope on it with the varible power, thiking 6-24. The 8-32 is all good, but if a person isnt shooting out past 500yds., It really isnt "really" necessary IMO. (the Savage 12 is a differnt story , it'll reach out there and make itup close and personal. )

First time I got the 12 in my hands as I was looking to buy it, got it on the bench (after a 100yrd sight in) and where ever the cross hair is when you break the trigger, it's There!!! After shooting it and coyote hunting with it, it's one of those guns that never leaves...A keeper!

I can't imagine why I would ever give up my 12 either Zane. That kind of accuracy is what it's all about. There's just something out of this world about reaching out and smacking something a quarter of a mile away (or more) any time you feel like it.
![]() BTW I love shooting spiders and bees at 50 yards with my rimfires. If they land on my target they're usually toast before they can get away. I have trouble seeing them well at 100 yards even with a good scope though. My peepers just ain't what they use-ta be. |

Went up to the new Cabelas here in Wichita yesterday. The Cabelas had their grand opening on Wednesday. Anyway I found some Federal Gold Medal Target .22lr
Spent some time this morning, sanding wood away from the stock to make sure the barrel was free floating. Go most of it but will have to have one more go around at it. I'm also thinking about buying a glass bedding kit. Anyway, took the rifle and the new Gold Medal ammo to the range. I was shocked at how my groups have improved. The best one is the picture below and the 5 round group measures .375 inches. This was at 50 yards. BTW, that is a .357 bullet in the picture. Last edited by rcairflr; 03-17-2012 at 05:29 PM.. |
