Ok, just for the sake of conversation, your a terrorist. You read in the paper and hear it on TV, the garbage cans are blast proof. So you imagine for a moment, do I really want to place my bombs in a blast proof garbage can? ( it stated the city is going to sell advertising space on those garbage cans ) Ok, back to being a terrorist again. Now, you know for sure, the garbage cans are blast proof, and have advertising all over them. So you think to yourself, do I really want to place my bombs in an immediately identifiable blast proof garbage can, that has advertising all over it?

I always heard Chicago was a rough town. If I lived there I would move.

Why don't they just pass a law stating that bombs are illegal, and if you want to own one you need to have a Bomb Owners Identification Card (BOID). They could also make it illegal for you to carry a bomb even if you have a BOID.
After all, if that philosophy is supposed to work with guns, then it should work with bombs, right? /sarcasm

Better yet they could just put signs on all the garbage cans saying something like "No Bomb Zone" or "No Bombs Allowed". It works so well for guns and drugs. "Stupid is as stupid does"!

It's been years since I've been there, but isn't the vast majority of it located in City Hall?

They do explode. I would imagine the intent of the cans were for law enforcement to put unexploded ones in to contain them.

Chicago is actually a very clean city. One of the cleanest in the nation.
This is just a new way for Rohm (king of IL) to raise taxes. He finds a new way almost every week. I read the G8 summit will be at camp David. That would be a sure riot in this city. NATO is still planed for Chicago. Could be 1968 all over again.

I spent my time in boot camp there. Yes, it's clean to an extent, but where it's dirty, it's really dirty. I loved it while I was there.

The solution is simple. Just make Chicago a "Bomb Free Zone".
Cheap, easy and effective---just put some signs up below the Welcome to Chicago signs that say "No bombs allowed beyond this point". Probably wouldn't cost more than $250,437.14. That's $437.14 to print the signs and have some schmuck in public works nail them up, and $250,000 in graft and kick-backs. Problem solved. Hmmm---I wonder if this plan would work for Idiots? Nah---there wouldn't be anybody left in Chicago. |
