Unhappy Incarcerated PTSD Veteran Please Write!

I cannot go into much detail, as I am the victim. I am the victim in more ways than one - the man who stabbed me was not having a flashback, but was still in the Delta. He had been acting very strange for a month, and I reported it. (Don't worry, you wouldn't believe how cooperative the VA is being.)

But three lives are ruined. Mine, my son's and his.

The charge: Attempted Murder

I cannot write him, if you do you cannot mention that his family cares. It violates the no contact order.

But I want him swamped with letters of support. (He's not getting out; hell, I met with a defense attorney. But don't tell him that.)

He needs to know you understand, as do I, that you never left Vietnam.

Please send letters. Tell him stories, positive storeis about war buddies, etc. If you read a good book about the war, describe it to him.

He loves historical texts - any era - if you have old books, send them to him. I want him to have as much as he can have of the life he had before...

You can say this - "Me and God are Watching Scotty Grow" ~ he knows that's my way of saying my son, 15, who saved my life that night, and his stepson, ironically the son of another vet who died of a form of cancer still up for debate in regards to the Agent Orange Act.

Please write to:
Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center
Richard T. Blaney
Inmate Number 11068
201 John Mark Dial Drive
Columbia, South Carolina 29209

And guys, please . . . if your wife or a friend (in this case both) tells you to get help, please go. Three lives are ruined because of his stubborn pride and another failure tnat I cannot go into.

I have lost two husbands, but I can put flowers on the first one's grave - I doubt if I'll be able to ever see or speak to Rick again. And my son, he's struggling, but he's taking care of me right now. The child had to grow up when he was four. But he's an honors student and has never been in trouble - I couldn't be prouder. Keep us all in your prayers.

Much love . . .

-->

Thanks, Raven - and feel free to share this on any boards or in any groups you are in . . . you have no idea what kind of conflict I feel.

But we all know, two people can exist in one body.

Thank you so much . . .

Love.

What a task to be confronted with...! Jack, you commented as graciously and tactful as anyone of us could...I must go back and read this again to be able to sort out the mysteries about it all...Dear Lady, you have my sympathies and concerns for you must know that this is about all I can offer up at this time. I underdstand - it's a tragedy, for all of us. We'll hang in there, my son and I. We have before, and we'll do it again.

Much thanks!!!
