Looking at Buck 120 knives on ebay and a number of listings have pre 1986 as if that's a plus. Did something change in 86 that reduced the quality of these knives?

And in the case of having a blade replaced the new blade will have the current date mark. As far as I know no changes took place, the pre 86 is just a selling point if you collect bucks. ( I collect 110's and 112's, with different scales and/or blades )

Yes it is. Thank you all. I just bought one on ebay. It is a new Buck 120 Boone & Crockett. It was only about $74.00 with tax. I hope these things are the same quality as the old ones were. Some are asking as much as $300.00 for those, used.
