Well, after having only purchased Glocks for the last 20 years, I decided that I needed to add a 1911 to my collection for a few reasons. First, it is just such a piece of Americana that everybody should have one. Second, it goes well with my M1 carbine.
![]() So today I picked up a Remington R1 because it was about the closest I could find to a government issue 1911 without spending a lot of money. (I know I could have found it cheaper on line, but I like supporting my local gun shops.) ![]()

Nice weapon. The Remington R1s are pretty sweet from what I hear.

![]() Not likely...I'm working on collecting the full set of the Glocks starting by getting one of each caliber, then going back and getting one of each model.
