The gun is actually chambered for 9mm largo. It will shoot .38 automatic.
DO NOT SHOOT .38 SUPER IN THIS GUN UNLESS IT IS MARKED .38 SUPER! |

yep. Most likely a .38 super wont even chamber, but if it did the weapon might just come apart when the hammer drops. Try to find some 9mm Largo ammo.
heres a link to the 9mm Largo site, read up and learn about it. http://9mmlargo.com/ Your Llama Extra is pictured on the fornt page with a bunch of other handguns that use the 9mm Largo.

As a historical note the 9MM Largo was quite popular in Florida in the forties. It was so popular that it was even incorporated into a popular movie title staring Humphry Bogart..... Key Largo, in which all the semi auto firearms used were 9MM Largo's.

The gun is chambered for the 9MM Largo and .38 ACP, .38 Super will chamber and fire , the LLama is a very good pistol but I have no Ideal if it will hold up under the much higher pressure of the 38 Super { .38 ACP and .38 Super are dimensionally the same }. BTW Edgar G. Robinson carried a 1903/1908 Colt in Key Largo.
