You ever use that expanding foam that comes in a can? It's called, 'Great Stuff' foam.
Wish I had read on the can where it says to wear gloves. Do NOT get this stuff on your skin. Of course, that's what I did. If I could have wiped it off immediately with acetone, I probably could have got it off. But I was on a ladder, determined to finish so "I'll just clean my hands later". Bad decision. I tried gasoline, acetone, rubbing alcohol, 409, Comet, Dawn detergent and soap in conjunction with a scrub pad. I even tried Hoppes #9 just to see what it would do! I'm not kidding. ... Nothing. Apparently, acetone will work if it hasn't set up yet, but I waited too long. Now I have black crap on my hands that will not come off! The best results I've had have come from scraping the skin with a knife. So unless any of you guys have some suggestions on some super high power black magic cleaner, I guess I will have this mess on me until the skin sloughs off. Lesson learned. I will never do that again! .

it's pretty much gonna be there until the skin falls off; it's great stuff, just as advertised, but a nightmare to clean off of anything once it's set up. A long hot shower is the only thing that helps slightly from my experience.

wow, sounds like you're in a sticky situation! I know it's easy to get attached to things sometimes. perhaps you should call a professional on the foam and see if he would be willing to part with something that will help remove it

it just about has to "wear" off. it's great stuff for the intended pupose and works well.
And one thing you will never get it off of, is your clothes. I got into a mess with it in a tight space and got it ALL over a good pair of jeans, never did wash out. If you ever use the stuff to fill a synthetic stock on a rifle, be sure and tape the stock off really well.

Hopefully you didn't get it on your clothes. It will never come off. That has to be one of the stickiest substances on Earth.

Get something called "Krud Kutter" available at Home Depot. It is a waste paint hardener.
It will work!

I've been able to get the worst of it off. At least to where I would not be embarrassed to be seen in public! It was that bad.
Spent about an hour this morning, scraping with my pocket knife. By the way, WD-40, no luck. May buy some Krud-Kutter. . |

Glad you got it off. One thing you might try on the remaining stuff is oil. Any kind of oil. I found out from an emergency room doc when I accidently glued my fingers together with super glue that oil is the best thing once it's set up. Acetone, toluene, and lacquer thinner all had no effect but a little cooking oil seemed to dissolve the glue on contact.

After learning the hard way a few years ago that it doesn't come off, I was sealling cracks in my pumphouse last Sept wearing old gloves and clothes. Was real proud of myself until I tried to run a comb thru my hair. A blob had gotten in the open back of my baseball cap and hardened. Had a hair pulling good time getting it out
