I just got home but I was fortunate enough to meet up with geds today as he was passing thru my area on the way home to alabama. We spent about an hour or so shooting the bull and sipping sweet tea, complements of him I might add, and I really enjoyed it. Its always good to meet another member and put a face to a name. He makes about the fourth member I have met and I hope I will get to make the annual BBQ this year to meet more of you guys.

DD, Geds is supposed to come up to Alaska this Sept to see the sights; I told him he'd do better if he came up hunting than driving here & there but this is his wife's trip I think. Aug & Sept is my time of the year to kill Caribou, Moose, and Grizzly Bear so I doubt I'll touch base with Geds while he's sight seeing Alaska.

One online friend I met on another hunting site is coming up with his kids to kill some blk bear in June; just moved to Alaska a year back; don't know where to go hunting. I plan to really put a hurtin on the bear this Spring, they should be coming out within the nx month from hibernation. The bear & wolves are the main reason our caribou herd has stagnated at 60K animals; back in 1920's, 450K caribou were here. Actually stopped steam ship traffic in the Yukon for days at a time as they crossed. Killing bear & wolves can only help the bou & moose.

Anybody that plans a hunting trip in my area of Ak, I could give them some places & pointers if they are doing it on their own; maybe hunt some with them.

Yea, geds told me of his plans to visit alaska and yes its an anniversary trip not a hunting trip. But, he spoke highly of you and the contact you guys have had so far. I hope you get a chance to meet somehow while he is up there.

There are a lot of people on the forum I would really like to meet. Maybe if I win the lottery I could take a road trip. Highly unlikely--I have better things to spend my money on than lottery tickets...

If any of you make your way over this direction let me know...

That's cool, I know we have several members in the Sioux Falls, SD area. Maybe some day we can all get together and have lunch or something.

Wow, now that would be a heck of a trip for you to make. I guess if you tie it in with a vacation it will work.

I have talked with my wife and she said it would be exciting to meet some of you guys. We are going to do something for sure.

Just got home, unpacked, started the wash, opened the "care package" Dan gave me, and logged on to say how much I enjoyed the meet, eat, and how surprised I was for the kindness Dan showed! Once again I am blown away by the super nice folks on this forum!

And Zurth, I did brag some more on your jerky! The guys at work are still asking me about it!

I hope to get to meet more members. I keep figuring that on one of these trips across GA and SC that we can build in some time to stop for coffee or a coke see some more faces to go with the names!

And Coach Will - I still can't figure out why we can't drive 10 minutes to meet - we're practically neighbors and are just flat out not being neighborly! Let me know when you're available and I'll do what I can to do likewise!

Ya know the BBQs are a great idea! But there is no reason to wait once a year to meet the folks we chat with on a daily basis. If you find the opportunity, I highly recommend meeting these great folks!
