Something I have learned about Sportsmans Warehouse: They most often have primers in the back, even when there ain't any on the shelf for sale. I always thought they were for their special customers, but I have always been able to talk them outta 1000 primers when I need them and when there weren't any on the shelf. No joke, complete truth.

I was talking with the local gun store owner last week. Its not good people. He told me that Homeland scurity is buying all the ammo that the ammo makers can make. Why? Well your guess is as good as mine. I think that they are planning to try to get our guns, and that will set Marchall Law in effect. I will just say this... Its about time to make or buy all you can. Lock and load. I really think it will get ugly over the next few months. This president i feel is going to have another 4 years. IMO. I will agree with LD 100%. Going to be busy this next few weekends. I know i have 5,000 small pistol and 1,500 large pistol primers on hand. Large rifle not shure as well as small rifle. So i off to the gun range to test my fix it job on the Norinco T-54 9mm. Then back here to the lead room to cast up the last of the 200-300 pounds of lead i have.

While hoarding is normally bad, in this case it was probably a good idea. It became apparent that Obama might win and his agenda promise to the anti-gun crowd was gun control (and maybe ammo control too). But as Obama wanted two terms he saved the gun control for the second term. Coming out against guns during the first term may have killed his chances for a second term. While we tend to think of some political candidates as just regular people, they are generally not. They are part of a political machine and one of the worst ones in America today is the Chicago one, of which Obama is the leader if not their hero.

Currently Romney is not a slam dunk for president and the 50% or so of the populace that don't pay any taxes may elect Obama again to get more free goodies from the government. This time gun control will definitely be on the table. America is at a turning point (progressive socialism or true freedom). If the progressive movement wins the 2012 election then there will be gun control, health care control, Cap and Trade which will lead to sky high energy costs, and many other things that will lead into a European style society (bankruptcies and all). There may not be enough of us freedom lovers and too many of those on the dole to right the ship of freedom in America.

So, hoarding may be the only way we can assure a few years of firearms use. I don't want to see it but you have to do what you have to do.

That's it in a nut shell.

Mine was a little upset when I bought 5,000 bullets and 10,000 primers. But I don't need to buy any primers and bullets for a while.

My local reloading shop had plenty primers today. I called them Thursday to ask them to hold back 5000 LPP, and 5000 SPP. I also had them order me 8lb of W231, and WST. My powder will be in Tuesday. I have decided to set aside $250 bi-weekly to spend on primers for the next two months. I have plenty of loaded ammo and bullets setting on the self so I'm GTG. Over time is picking up at work so once I get in on some good doubl time I plan on picking up another AR15. I don't think Obama will take our guns if he does win, but I could see him banning the sale of those evil black guns again. I have noticed 40s&w bullets have been hard to find in 180gr. My bullet sorce normally has a turn around from order to delivery of about 4 days. They called me on a order I placed Thursday saying it would be 1 week to process my order.

I look at high taxes on ammo, guns, and supplies if Big "O" has his way. Remember what occurred with the Slicksters AWB; Colt A2 AR's went from $440 to $1800 then settled back down with time but the supply never run out for the right $$$$$. I've never regretted buying cases of fmj's back around 1990 for $179 each. Fear of running out of 556 never crosses my mind to this day. Now, I just concentrate on brass, powder, and primers for hunting rounds; and I have spent way more on those supplies than I did on fmjs twenty years back. We live rural, buy powder & primers when I get in town during the summer and our Sportsmans are well stocked currently. I've gotten into the habit of placing an order at Midway or Sinclair every payday for bullets or brass. Only 200-300 bucks but do it every couple weeks. Buy the wife her smokes and I get my ammo. I have 80-90 small 50 count boxes of bullets and won't even think about stopping until I get up over 200, kinda my goal. Then I'll feel safe no matter if the idiots vote for him again or not.

With the mail order places, prices vary from month to month, keep checking the sales.

The Sportsman Warehouse near me is consistently out of stock on reloading supplies also. I've been asking them for flat nose bullets for the 30-30 for a month, still nothing on the shelf as of sunday... Sadly, that's the closest supply house to me.

So well put I can only add that in a south eastern major metropolitan area ammo is getting scarce and reloading supplies are nowhere to be found. Prices are going up
