In addition to many of the previously mentioned, one that irks me past belief is 'same difference' when the speaker means two things or concepts are the 'same'.

I carry a deep respect for the marvels of the English language and I shudder at those who will not use it properly. I have a choice now of ending this, or continuing on another couple pages. I'll quit.

Not exactly a term or phrase, but it rips me a new one every time I hear someone mangle the Star Spangled Banner. I don't know what these yahoos think the intent of the song is...it is not to focus the attention on the singer, but to show respect to the nation and those that stood up for it!

My daughter introduced me to this young fellow who was vying for her affection many years ago.

He was wearing baggy pants and a wife-beater shirt.

When she introduced us, he said " 'sup".

I showed him the door frame.
