Default Free Gun

I have a .22LRRF Remington 540 XT (drilled and tapped) with iron target sights ( a Redfield peep and what fore sight inserts I have), with adjustable butt pad that is grooved for a fore end hand rest and sling swivels.

I will give this rifle to an aspiring but needy young target shooter with two provisos. They must reside in eastern PA or NJ and show up in person. (In the case of NJ your parent/representative must possess an NJ FOID card.) And you present proof you are part of a youth shooting program, (4-H, NRA, etc.)

Contact me via PM on this forum. MW

Good for you millwright. I am in NE Penna and if I think of anyone I will give you a shout. I hope to be down at my gun club near Lehighton PA this weekend and will see if there is any youngster there who will fit the bill.

millwright

If you don't have any takers..

I am in Iowa and coach a 4H rifle team...and we are short a rifle or two...

I cann't show in person, and I live in Iowa. But if you would consider a sale, I would too! I realize your wants, but I do have the need. This way it wouldn't be free, but it would go to a vey good home....

PM me if your interested, and thanks for your consideration..

Regards, Kirk

millwright,

The rifle is nearly as new...beautifull...Our club will see to it that it is put to good use. We cannot thank you enough for your donation of this fine target rifle. Take a kid shooting today!!

We will be shooting it at our regular outing this Thursday. I am sure it wil be a very popular rifle, and believe me the kids have their favorites.

Best regards, Kirk

Alpo,

We shoot tonight. I am fairly busy at the range line, keeping an eye on range safety, but I will see what I can do about some pics..

And yes, it really happens, every month....

Ever load move, and ready 13 target rifles with an average weight of about 12 lbs.? Plus ammo and targets, (I need staples for the staple gun, note to self...)

But I really feel it is worth it to keep young people shooting the sports.

Best regards, Kirk

You'll have to for give my kids spelling. I didn't tell them how it's spelled....

The rifle shot very well. Several kids now have "dibs" on it when it's their turn to shoot.

I am in the back, the taller fellow. Rare pic of me....

Best regards, Kirk

Need to work on the girls. Only got 20% female in that bunch.

Man, that towhead with the glasses, behind the guy with the yeller shirt, could be me, 45 years ago.

Gee Alpo,

You have had interesting guns for a very Loooooong time haven't you? What is that military trainer you have there....And more importantly, have you still got it???

Oh yea I noticed the dog (?) too...on your shoulders....

Thanks Highboy, You and/or anyone else could be in that picture instead of, or with me. All you have to do is not take the time, but make the time for these little life's adventures. I know when I am an old man in these parts, There will be youngster's hearing about how that gimpy old fart could shoot. They'll know who I am, and will be watching me. This is how life works. You get back what you give. Remember that.

The girls are my daughters, though we have several others not in the pics tonight...

Best regards, Kirk
