Here's a few pictures of her. I sent it down to Josh (JLA) to have a Kart NM barrel, Briley spherical barrel bushing, Cylinder & Slide 4lb trigger kit and a Cerakote graphite black finish put on it. He did a very, very nice job on it!!!
Here's a few pics of it, and the Gander Mountain target is offhand at 30 feet. (BTW I said I wasn't buying anymore from GM, but this was just a leftover target I found in the basement). The other target with the pistol in the pic is JLA shooting it off of a ransom? at 25 yards with 200gr SWC. Grips are VZ Recon in Military Brown. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Thanks again Josh. She turned out absolutely beautiful.

They ought to make a calendar up with "Gun of the Month". Your Springfield can be January's pic! Nice finish!

Nice job! The pistol work and the shooting both!

The 25 yd test target was fired at 25 yds off a sandbag. I dont have a ransom rest. All my testing is done with my own 2 hands on the pistol.
Have you taken it apart yet Hogger?

Yeah have field stripped it and oiled/cleaned it. It's a little trickier to do - requires me to use my bushing wrench - but it's manageable.

How did the rails look after your range session?
I fired about 20 rounds and they didnt even scuff. Only part that scuffed up was the bottom of the slide where the disconnector rides, which is normal on any 1911.

I love the look Hogger and Josh will be seeing some work from me here around Aug. I am going to clean up the SP101 and then have him tweak the STI a bit. Kinda nice that he's only 11 miles down the road from me![]()

Josh - I didn't notice any wear on the rails.

good Thats the first place you will notice wear. and if Cerakote hold up to it claim it will be several thousand rounds before you notice.

Thats my goal every time I slam a round into a chamber. Something drives me to hit the same spot over and over.
![]() I just wish I could do it offhand..

I dont know for sure yet Hogger, The gun is stainless now I wouldnt mind having another stainless finish put on it but I really like the finish on your gun. I have to wait right now to have it done as I am having some issues. I guess when its time I will send the gun off to Josh and pretty much let him tell me what needs done. I think this will be the one 1911 I keep forever I am actually thinking about selling the sr1911 I have. I just dont want to take a beating so early in the guns life.

I can do a stainless cerakote finish Dale.
They have about 50 different colors. I can even do Corvette yellow or Plum Purple if you want.
